Description

This may look like a couple of shots combined, but I assure you the image is unaltered beyond contrast, brightness, and tint. Although well into mid-morning, this area in the upper elevations of the Smoky Mountains was still thoroughly engulfed in a dense, although rapidly moving fog. The rapid movement of fog mixed with mountain ridges can provide some rather abstract moments. In the lowlands thick fog is usually quite sedentary. Not so up here. One second it's so thick you'd think night was descending and then suddenly a moment or two later the sun cuts through like a knife. Never a dull moment for a photographer. Taken last October. Thanks for viewing. marshall
