The Northern Mockingbird is the state bird of Texas.
It's also the state bird of Florida, where Kort hails from,
... as well as Arkansas, Mississippi, and Tennessee.

I thought of you this morning I was up early, I have a friend coming over early to visit, and I was outside and noticed all the birds out today,and thought about running in to get my camera, but I just stood there and watched and enjoyed them for a while and went back inside... One of these days I will get a good bird capture.. LOL

Oh, how I have sat for hours in my back yard, begging for an opportunity like this with our mocking birds, only to slink off stiff and disappointed and have the little dolls flock to the seat I just vacated! :-) This is by far one of the most delightful songbirds I've ever come across and this is the best portrait I've ever seen of one.
