You have used a couple of interesting ideas in your image. I like the characters expression and pose very much. But it also looked a bit blurred/washed out, especially on the edges, that steal a bit from your images beauty away. Maybe you could try in blurring the background instead and using the Alpha channel for a sharp selection of your character for postwork.
