So lonely is the night, Now that you have left my loving sight. I waited for you in this house so cold, Never realizing that I was growing old. I waited for you both day and night, a candle in the window to give you light. It cast a glow into the gloom, whilst I sat lonely in my room. My body grew weaker o’er the years, Worn out by endless futile tears. Until one day my soul took flight, Up to a glorious golden light. Heaven was Hell without you there, Where are you my love, Oh where! Oh where? So now I wait in this house so cold Knowing that I will never grow old.
