Description

MY SISTER AND I WENT ON A PHOTOGRAPHIC SAFARI IN THE FLORIDA COUNTRYSIDE YESTERDAY. AFTER STOPPING AT A FARMERS MARKET THAT HAD THE LARGEST CABBAGE AND CAULIFLOWER I HAVE EVER SEEN, WE STOPPED AT A RANCH THAT HAD THESE TEXAS LONGHORNS. THERE WERE 4 ADULTS AND A CALF. I USED A FRESCO FILTER TO TRY AND MAKE IT LOOK A LITTLE MORE INTERESTING.

I always wondered why they called them long horns, now I know for sure. Nice.

for me, the Texas longhorn is THE most interesting cow around. The horns vary in size, length, girth and curve. The idea they are able to carry some of those spreads on their heads and never bat an eye, is amazing. Coming across them, whether as a single cow/steer or a herd of 50, they are truly a mark of American history. Great and glorious shot - wouldn't mind seeing it as the original as well.
