Description

I bought a prime lens yesterday ... Nikon 50 mm f1.8 ... which means I have to use manual because my camera doesnt work on auto with it and of course I cant do it yet very well ... its too cold to go outside today minus 20 C & windy so I practiced on this angel ( and my cats of course ) ... when you get a manual shot right ..its sooooo nice ... so heres my first shot on a prime lens ..which I LOVE and am thrilled about because of the clarity it gives you .. the Bokeh on this lens is fantastic as well. .the angel zoomed in around her mouth and nose looks like its sharpened but its not .. its just the cracked ceramic on her its not much of a photo but I am learning to use this lens and manual ..1 out of 25 oh my !!! any tips on working with manual ? thank you for your comments on my previous photos :)

Just keep playing and you will get it right; this shot demonstrates you have caught on beautifully already. :) I am a Nikon user, too .. I should look up that lens you just got .. I'm itching to buy a new one for myself. :)

Hey, I took the plunge and have been working on manual with my pathetic camera for a few months now; I make a lot of mistakes, but overall I like the effects a lot better. You have a lot more freedom in your lighting choices, which is nice. Look up some tutorials online for stuff you're not sure about...I've found it very helpful. From this shot it looks like you've got a really excellent start!
