Description

while with my friends in London in early January there were still signs of Christmas goodies and they seemed worth a capture before they finally disappeared! The Christmas cake was a taste to savour..baked by my friend and well laced with brandy. there was Christmas gingerbread and a fig and nut roll. fortunately we can't eat these items all the year.. This was the table at the end of the meal.... Wish I could actually share them..truly.. Jean

I recognize the gingerbread and that fruitcake is a bit different than I make. Mine has no icing... I glaze it with a rum glaze that fuses nicely with the half a bottle of rum that is used to "baste" it for the 2 weeks prior to serving. I tell my family and guests not to light a cigarette near it or the place will go up in a fire ball! :-) Yummy shot, well done.
