Description

When the person you went to in times of trouble is no longer there, who do you go to? When she was your rock, your strength, who got you through everything, who do you go to? Where are you Nan? I miss you so much. I miss your laughter, your jokes, your telling me off over silly things, your half a box of cereal, your trinkets, the scraps of newspapers sent through the post, pics of girls with curly hair begging me to go curly again, lottery tickets...I miss you. For my sister and I who are finding it extremely hard to deal with the loss of my Nan. The funeral was very sad but beautiful. Lol and eventful. On the way there I was throwing up due to car sickness. Then when Nanna arrived at the house I fell over and went smack on the floor. Hurt my knee big time. Then in the church my 13 year old son collapsed. His eyes rolled back into his head and his tongue lolled out and the undertakers had to catch him. Scared the crap outta me. He's a bit better now but going to the docs on Thursday. Me? I'm ok. Not sleeping at all though. I miss her so much. Hair is chantal by swam & zachrael

Ah this is so touching, I so feel you here - because there are some persons in your family, it's almost impossible to live without.

Such a sensitive and beautifully depicted sentiment Louise. I can relate to much of what you say about your Nana, because my Mother would send me press cuttings also. Never asked me to let my hair go curly again though! lol Gorgeous work! Steve :o)

Her spirit is with you. Talk to her often. If you think she is gone, then she will be. If you believe she is with you in spirits, she will be. One day when you think of her and you find yourself smiling, that is the day your heart is healing. Picture is a real touche of a moment. Now when I see a picture of a lady smiling on a sunny day, with the reflection of your nanna in calm waters, I'll know you have healed. Will

Absolutley beautiful! My heart aches for you, but it seems that your Nanna is still your inspiration. That will always be there, so she will always be there. Just remember when you need her the most, ask yourself. What would my Nanna have done? Or What would my Nanna have said? She will answer you.

This is so emotive, and I wish there were something I could do or say to help make you and your family feel better. Please take good care, and continue to bring out your feelings in your art, I think it's healing........for both you and us!! Thank you for sharing, and letting us in.

There isn't much you can say to that ... it's all true. I went through it twice when my mother passed and then a few years ago when my father passed away. They are such a huge part of your life and with them gone there is this abyss that nothing else can really fill. The pain dulls and the aches are easier to bear but it never goes away. A beautiful tribute.

lovely picture, and a great remembrance of your Grand ma. Rest easy knowing she's still with you, in your memories and in your heart. i lost both my parents, and understand how you fell right now. But you will get thru it.

I can totally identify with what you are going through. Almost three years ago my mother passed away very suddenly and unexpectedly after suffering a massive coronary, and I'm still in disbelief at times. She was my whole world, my best friend and confidante and the loss tears at my emotions every now and then. This is such a powerful, sensitive and exquisitely touching scene, full of emotion. Beautifully done!
