Description

Kinnairdy Castle is between Turriff and Keith, Aberdeenshire. It is a tower house dating back to the 14th century, plus a hall added later. Sir Alexander Innes lost the castle to his creditors in 1629. Ownership passed to the Crichtons and then the Rev Gregory in 1647. Here his brother fathered 29 children(no on line game playing in those days )and in his spare time invented the barometer. The Innes family restored the castle in recent times and it is available for rental. There is an earlier photo from a postcard shown on this site,I prefer it with the ivy covering... http://www.foggieloan.co.uk/43foundation/foundation.htm
