Description

The first Indianapolis 500 mile race was won by Ray Harroun in the only single seat car in the race. The Marmon Wasp was designed and built by Ray Harroun who was an engineer for the Nordyke and Marmon Company of Indianapolis. He won the race from the 26th starting position, still a record today. A scoring conflict resulted in the 2nd and 3rd place drivers protesting the finish but Harroun was declared the victor. All Bryce, blurr added with photoshop.
