Description

This photo was taken several years ago at Durrells (www.durrellwildlife.org) which is based in Jersey but has conservation projects throughout the world. You may have heard of its founder Gerald Durrell who passed away in 1995, He was a naturalist, zoo keeper, conservationist and author. This Golden-headed Lion Tamarin lives in the woods with other members of his species, they are endemic to Brazil and are an endangered species. They are fascinating to watch. Full view shows more detail of this little chap! Thank you for your views and comments Susan

He is most charming sitting up there! Seems like he is enjoying this habitat that has been beautifully re-enacted and re-created for him. Most beautiful POV you have captured, and the title is sooo cute :)

I went to Jersey in 1964 not long after Gerald Durrall had started up the wildlife park over there, and actually met him, he was a remarkable man. This is a great capture and just goes to show what a great life the animals have there, with plenty of room. hugs Jane xx
