Description

It was low tide the day I was walking along the bay. This dock was just as low as it looks and I did NOT try to walk down it. With my luck, I would've gone for a swim!!

Great perspective...off toward a vanishing point. This leads the eye through the depth of field. Very nice!

Great perspective! My kids would have gone that with their skateboards. ;o) Then I'd have to go after them to rescue them. I agree, I wouldn't want to go down that, either.

docks and sea-shores always have such visual drama. Here you got the drama of those rail-lines moving down to the water & the ramp emptying too. And the texture of the ramp is a nice contrast too. A nice study in abstract forms, even though it's very real and present. So, when the tide rises, does the dock submerge? Does the ramp go partly underwater? I know nothing of these things. (I was in Maine once, and the tide rose so high & fast I swore half of New England disappeared. That's an exaggeration, but coming from the Midwest, what did I know!) From all you've showed us of this water, I can't believe people swim here: It eats up whole tracts of land...isn't it a little tricky doing the backstroke in this stuff???
