I took this recently at a flower store down town.maybe one of the flower experts will know the name.I think the flower is red thanks for stopping by and any comments

It kind of looks like a magnolia flower. I'm not sure though - but the buds and leaves look rather like what you'd see on a magnolia tree. And you are in the South! :) Well, I am anyway. Really cool picture.

LOL not what i was expecting to see, and I am glad i didnt see what i was expecting. and i do believe marybelgium named them right,my mom grew them when I was a little boy but sadly that was as far as she came. Beautiful shot and thanks for the flash back to 50 years ago:)

They could be camellias, the leaves look like it, and they do bloom in the winter..I love how I can even see the slight fuzziness on the buds here, you get the best detail!
