Description

Again I tried to make a nice little fantasy picture this time with snow and a fae. While playing with lights and skintones and camera angles I came up with another idea... a quite morbid idea. She's frozen... to death. Trapped in ice. I'm starting to scare me.

Oh, this is just amazing. It does look like she's frozen in ice, but being a fae, I'm sure she'll be able to survive and thaw out in the spring. The colors in this are perfect.

Legend has it that Rasputin, the Mad Monk of Russia, assassinated by poison and 4 gunshots, thrown into the icy Neva river was subsequently found because while trapped under the ice he had etched a Cross into its underside. When I saw this image I thought of that episode. Freezing is often a symbol of the abject singularity of death and as such serves as a 'momento mori' remember your death. It's believed that this idea promotes a healthy orientation to life and a person certainly needs all the guideposts they can muster.

Reminds me of the "Virgin in the Ice" episode of Brother Cadfael. Looks cool, no pun intended...unless you actually find something like this.

Oh wow! What a breathtaking scene ... literally, for our poor character here. This is quite amazing, the realism of the ice is superb and her pose is just right. A chilling image, sends a shiver of horror down my spine ...
