Description

Vue7I: I think I found a workable solution for creating larger rock materials. The goal here is to create large distinct rocks which can be used in combination with other materials and renders quickly. Of course, you could do something similar to this with procedural terrains. However, using displaced materials on standard terrains is about 5X to 10x faster compared to baking in rocks via procedural terrain formulas -- and you get the added benefit of easily creating distinct colors for the rocks.

Looks great and very natural, Dave. Is this part of your product, or something new you're working on?

This looks really effective Dave, I still prefer the displacement ones, but the bumps would be OK in the distance without the overheads.
