Description

AS I SAID BEFORE. CATTLE EGRET ARE RECENT MIGRANTS TO THE AMERICAS. INSTEAD OF WADING LIKE OTHER EGRETS, THEY PREFER TO WALK AROUND WITH CATTLE OR IN RECENT YEARS THEY FOLLOW TRACTORS AS THEY PLOW THE FIELDS, TO CATCH INSECTS AND SMALL REPTILES. THIS ONE IS IN FULL MATING COLORS. THE REST OF THE YEAR THEY ARE ALL WHITE. IF YOU LOOK CLOSELY AT THE RIGHT FOOT, YOU WILL SEE A BLUISH EGG. THIS WAS TAKEN AT THE VERY BEGINNING OF THE NESTING SEASON.
