Animal antics p1 The enlightment of sniffing Hi there my friends, I was suppose to have post this yesterday, but since we had the electrician fixing some of the wiring in our house I could not make untill this morning. This is the first part of a short series titled "Animal antics". The enlightment of sniffing This all starts with two dogs who meet for the first time. As all dogs normally do they start their aqaintance with the ritual niffing of each other. After a few minutes of continues sniffing the brown dog suddenly looks up and ask the white dog..... Did you know? "The cheetah is an atypical member of the cat family that is unique in its speed, while lacking climbing abilities. sniff, sniff... As such, it is placed in its own genus, Acinonyx. It is the fastest land animal, reaching speeds between 112 and 120 km/h (70 and 75 mph) Sniff... and has the ability to accelerate from 0 to 110 km/h (68 mph) in three seconds, faster than most supercars. Sniff..... The word "cheetah" is derived from the Sanskrit word chitrakaya?, meaning "variegated body." To this the white dog responded.... No! sniff, sniff... I did not know this sniff... Just then the brown dog again asks the white dog Did you know? "Earth is the third planet from the Sun. Sniff, sniff... Earth is the largest of the terrestrial planets in the Solar System in diameter, mass and density. Sniff, sniff.... It is also referred to as the World and Terra. Home to millions of species, including humans, Sniff,sniff... Earth is the only place in the universe where life is known to exist. The planet formed 4.54 billion years ago." Again the white dog responded No!,I did not know this, sniff, sniff A third time the brown dog looks up and ask Did you know? "Gold is a chemical element with the symbol Au (Latin: aurum) and atomic number 79. Sniff, sniff... It is a highly sought-after precious metal, having been used as money, as a store of value, in jewelry, in sculpture, and for ornamentation since the beginning of recorded history. Sniff, sniff... The metal occurs as nuggets or grains in rocks, in veins and in alluvial deposits. Sniff, sniff... Gold is dense, soft, shiny and the most malleable and ductile pure metal known. Sniff, sniff..., Pure gold has a bright yellow color traditionally considered attractive. It is one of the coinage metals and formed the basis for the gold standard used before the collapse of the Bretton Woods system in 1971. The ISO currency code of gold bullion is XAU." To this the white dog responded.....sniffffff....., No I did not know this either, sniff, sniff...., But! please tell me sniff, sniff...., how do you know all these things?, sniff... Surely you must be a genius or your master must be, sniff, sniff.. for you to know so much stuff, sniff,... So, the brown dog giggles a bit and say, Sniff, actualy,... there is a bubblegum wrapper stuck to your tail! ------------------------------------------------------------------- Ok' so my inspiration for this pic comes from a very strange place indeed, as do so many of my images!lol In the eighties we use to refer to 'Chappies'' bubblegum as the South African''Encyclopedia, thanks to all the, ''did you know'' stuff that was printed on the inside of the wrapper. I also aimed at making a eighties like scene, so I added some familiar things from the eighties e.g the end of days prophet whom I havent seen for some years now. Maybe he won the lottery and decided the end should not be as near anymore! Today we have wikipedia yippeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! And so all the info here were taken from there!
