You're turning into quite a wildlife photographer! I'm never in the right place at the right time. Great capture!

Stinking little buggers aren't they mate, I used to have the unenviable task of skinning them in their droves when I was a master furrier, they were used to simulate ranch mink, great shot Mick

Ok...what gives?!?! You mean there really is such a thing as a pole cat?? That's just what we call skunks around here!!! And this thing looks like a pet ferret. Gotta go google this now, thanks for the interesting shot!

I got eight of those things in my bedroom right now! The look is very much like the ferrets we have and the pong description is spot on for a 'whole' ferret -- unneutered. Some folks claim to like the smell.... I am not some folks and thank Deity neither is the missus. Our guys smell 'warm' -- no weasel/polecat oder at all. ( The only thing a domesticated ferret can predate on (oh Webster, forgive me) is a moldy cat treat under the sofa! Even then I'm betting on treat. ) Great capture !!

I SO thought you were going to show us a shot of a cat on a pole--but this is even better. I really didn't know there was such a thing. And Ronnie skinned em?? UGH!!!!!!

Here we refer to polecats as a type of skunk... at least the average person does. Its a small breed only about 8 inches long and it has spots rather than stripes. And it shares one trait with your polecat... it is very odorous! I love this.
