Description
Many farflung colonies, without the resources to create their own police force from scratch, sign contracts with mercenary companies to handle law enforcement.
While many of the strongarm tactics employed by these private contractors bring criticism, and rightly so, they often also bring much needed law and order to the fringes of human society.
The main drawback is that some mercenaries, once in control of the law, want control of everything...

Doesn't sound all that different from America's wild west of the 1800s. Many a famous sheriff, was at one time or another on the other side of the law--and often riding both horses at the same time. Love the gal's pose and expression.
