Description

My elder grandmother passed in 1999 and its only now we may go through her many treasures of the family and the era she lived in. The precious memories preserved in some of the oldest photos I have ever seen. There was one that struck me and why I created this character. She was sitting on the crecent moon at the USO during World WarII...So young and beautiful she was and I couldn't stop working till I got so close to her features until now. Her name was simple Mary Rita Sat....But I will remember her in a very special way. Her spirit is still very much alive. And I know she is looking down on this saying 'you need more henna in my hair' lol I miss you grandma, and I love you very much......
