The Entrance Cloister with bronze statue by A.Selva (1952)showing St Benedict at the moment of his death.
The Montecassino Monastery was founded by St Benedict in approx.529 AD. The best way to learn the history (if you are interested) is by looking at their website....

very nice play of lights & darks, and the way the shadows fall over the lower half, with those fascinating stones on the lawn. I've known a few of Benedictines (and also had the liqueur that was named after the order, which is supposed to work against disease). A nice capture of the light & dark of an open court, and it's nice that you got Benedict pointing us from the shadows into the sun. Looks like a sunny place.
