(you all may think i´m alcoholyc - LOL) well, when i did this one, they were two...they were done separated along some time. After lookink and looking i felt they belong to one another and i joined them! While i was drawing both, in my mind was banging something like: grammar(LOL), especially verbs in different times: future...present...past... so, i decided to named it "past perfect". ana

again, you have a lot of activity going on in your brushwork, your human figures are surrounded by genuinely active textures. It's like you're painting the conversation itself. In the left-hand panel, one of the heads is painted in whites & grays and has all kinds of motion in it. I'd love to see this kind of brushwork with colors or in other media too, like oils or acrylic. (Oils would give impasto, which could be quite active. You seem to get impasto in your b&whites. You get a textured 'thickness'...) A very jazzy picture, and the right-side panel looks like people standing over a piano in a night club bar. Very expressive, Ana; I'm always amazed at the textures you get with watercolors, inks, and black and white.

very fine done, i like that black crack to the right, it gives a good idea about past, perfect or not. your drawing style (with alcohol or not lol) is consistent and so haunting, love to watch them, great work on the people again, ana!

having these as a diptych certainly works well, they do go together. The odd composition of the left one, so heavily weighed to the right suddenly become a wonderful extension of the further right panel, creating a new, nicely balanced asymmetrical space. The negative space on the left of the left panel really works now. Well seen ANA!
