Description

Nyha Silverwing had been sent to the Dark Realms to kill an enemy of her people. The Sky Elves were a proud race and didn't take kindly to the Dark Elves of the UnderRealms killing their kin. So the Elders sent Nyha. But she had been overconfident in her skills and captured, luxuriant wings painfully bound up, and the sky she so loved, and found she took for granted, was lost to her sight for time beyond even her reckoning. In the fullness of her internment, she forgot the sky, the feeling of the wind against her cheeks as she soared with the mighty eagles her kin had bonded to. In time, she nearly forgot her own name and all that had brought her to this dark and dismal realm. All she held were diminishing hopes of ever seeing even a shimmer of blue sky again. Then, one night, he came to her. A lustrous onyx skinned hero with glowing ruby eyes. He didn't look on her with the contempt of his kin, but a silent and earnest admiration for surviving in the UnderRealms so long without loosing her mind. He had seen so many of the Upworlders do so. Seen the fragility of their minds and how his people twisted them, twisted them against their own, and broke the spirits of such beautiful creatures. Nyha was one of the most lovely he had laid eyes upon in nearly a century...if in the lifespan of Elves such a word had much meaning. He came to her, at first, with just the whisper of his name, Esyar Thorneblade, a prince among his people. And a promise to her that he would let her see the light again. Feel the wind, and unfurl those angelic wings to fly again. An age passed with his promises whispered in the dark. Then finally she saw him and knew that her heart was what had truly been lost and never her freedom. On a night of the full moon, he led her to an old temple in the UnderRealm with his word that her freedom had been bought without question and that she was free to leave the UnderRealm with no reprisal against her or her kin. But time had won a prize of its own, her wings, withered and weak from binding and disuse were useless to her now. And, besides, she had more here to live for than anything she could recall in the Upworld. Without a word she wrapped her arms around him and drew him to her, pressing a long waiting kiss to his lips. With onyx arms snaking about her slender waist, he drew her to him and returned her kiss. Here and now, in silence, with a singular act of love, they had bound to each other in ties no blade could hope to sever. And thus proving, that even in darkness and shadow, love could light more ways than fire, and forge ties that none could ever break. ~~~~ (please be kind -- this is my very first attempt at a Drow character -- and, no, I'm not basing ANY of my story of D&D standards, so sue me *grin*! It's too much fun to tease - lol.... good looking upload, sorry you can't kiss your boyfriend - try a mirror - lol... now I am being mean, I'm sorry - lol I got an Idea... take a picture of you kissing... your boyfriend takes one of him kissing... you email each other the kissing pictures, you both make an upload but - DON'T TELL EACH OTHER HOW YOU'RE DOING THE PICTURES... let your fans decide who the BETTER KISSER (art) IS.

Nicely done Stacey, the scene well-highlights the most critical point in the story. Your story well tells a recurring them, and that is to fully appreciate the light you have to spend time in the dark side. You did a great job of telling this belief of those of us who spend much time in the darklands.
