Soooo.. a strange image for me I know..LOL BUT.. in the past week I have cut 28 inches of hair from the back of my head.. and while I must admit I am still adjusting to it I do feel much lighter..LOL and I really needed to get it cut so that it could grow in healthier...
It is strange though because I still havent gotten used to it and I dont really feel like it is me looking back from the mirror :(
I did donate the hair to Locks of Love so hopefully someone else may be able to enjoy it as much as I did..
Thanks for sharing in this life changing experience (and for those of you with long hair you know cutting it like this is indeed a life changing experience on top of being a really REALLY scary one!!)
Its a crappy pic but my daughter took it with her phone so I could see how it looked in the back
and yes it is my natural color :D

Your hair still looks lovely and is a lovely colour, also a lovely way to use those chopped locks!! WD!! My hair never grows much past my shoulders, I'm off for my yearly cut next Thursday, I will still miss those few inches when I look in the mirror, so know exactly how you feel!!!

OMG Amy~!!! /floor It werid to see it so short hehe However, it looks great from the back tho.:) I know the 16 inches I cut off my head I felt 50 pound lighter hehe I donated to locks of love as well. Dosen't it make you feel great?!?! /hi5 My hair was no were as long as yours but i went from mid back to like only 3 and 4 inches on my head hehe It was super short and yes a life changing experience :D

I think it looks wonderful and yes it will grow back stronger and better ( sounds like something from the six million dollar man) haha - Is that your natural hair color?...wow it is gorgoeus! and the good thing also- when you start to grow some grey in- you won't see it as uch as you do in mine! haha luv Anne

Twenty-six inches! And I thought it was a lot when my wife cut about five inches off of mine recently... (Mine is now, maybe, an inch or two longer than yours now...)

LOL I had long hair untill I cut it into very short hair. Have the very short version for many years and never wanne go back to long but can imagine the feeling

Personally, I love a woman with long beautiful hair. But even after taking off so much, your hair is still long, and still very beautiful. Add to that the fact that you donated your tresses to "Locks of Love", it's a more than worthy sacrifice. Very nice, and thanks for sharing this photo.

Awesome Hair! I've always liked long hair, but how your hair is no matter how short you cut it it still looks Awesome! If I could model I'd model it in a heart beat.

When I was in high school I could sit on my hair. (That was 1975 - I'm sure you can imagine.) I got fet up with it and had it ALL cut off. It was three inches long. Nobody recognized me. I flipped my hair out of my face for weeks when I bent over, just from habit. Of course there was nothing there ... it was like a phantom limb. I remember it well! Looks like you got a great haircut. Somebody did a beautiful job!

I just saw this now, as you know Amy my hair is jet black. It is really long right now, It has reached my glutes(giggle). Anyway I was having a conversation with my best friend on the phone about just this. I've cut my hair and it grows out pretty fast. I was telling her that I wanted to get it cut again. She told me to do what you did. I want it to grow a little more and then I will cut it. Ahh, we shall see. Your hair looks beautiful. Whoever cut it did a really nice job. Great hair color to! What you did is really nice and an inspiration.

And bless your heart for doing it. I did the same thing with my hair not so long ago, though not quite that much, it was still an adjustment. But, think of it this way....it's for an excellent cause and you've made someone's life that much more bright for your generosity.
