As a child, the neighborhood kids would often go out in one of the open fields and drag huge rocks back to form circles. We'd then divide the large circle off into "rooms" with more rocks. Our games continued through the summer and the next year we'd go back and add to the circle or add bordered paths leading up to it. I often see pictures like yours and wonder if that's what the ancients did when they constructed these...just building borders to hold simple activities and maybe there was nothing mystic about it...that some just built their outdoor rooms out of bigger stones. This is a very good capture.
