My name is Tony Shaw and I have been working for a UK Bank since I left school in 1983. I have spent from 1990 working in their IT department as a software developer. With the threat of redundancy hanging over me next year, and having written a web-site for my Dad, I decided to train myself up in web and graphic design and as a result found Renderosity.
The graphic tools I'm using in my spare time are Adobe Photoshop, Bryce, Apophysis, Terragen and Vue ... I don't have any particular favourite as they all have their good and bad points.
I have not posted some of my very early works as they are quite basic and would not look out of place in comics, however I hope you will take time to browse through my gallery so far and any comments, whether good or bad will be greatly received as they will keep me motivated and hopefully improve my designs.
Happy rendering.

Well Tony! You know I'm a fan of your work, but I'm afraid I can't agree with every one on this piece. The terrain and atmosphere are very good along with the posing of the dragons, but the character is jagged and her eyes are lifeless which is characteristic to most poser and daz studio artwork. I'm not sure how this is done in DAZ but in poser in order to get over the lifeless, looking-at-infinity stare, I usually place and object in front of the character and use the "follow object" for the eyeballs, then by placing the object where I want the character to look, her/his eyes look much more naturally posed. Of course I didn't invent this trick, I read somewhere back when I started out with poser. Keep up the awesome work.

I am glad to see you added a human character to you work, Tony. Nice work with the girl. I like the warm glow on her skin. I would like to see different poses on the dragons. The post work around the moon looks great.

Theres a lot of good stuff going on here: The cool placid moon and night contrasting (heightening actually) the danger implied in the dragons and red land. It's kind of hard to tell where the lighting is coming from on the warrior, but it definitely highlights her as the main character. Overall, it makes a storyteller like me want to know more...
