Most intruiging! Apartments? or commercial units? whatever, it makes for a rhythmic composition.

I see the building perfectly, but it's so sharp and it's lovely shines invites me to think in a little engine or even in faces with it's eyes, noses and mouths, a lovely and thought provoking capture ;O)

Very interesting tubes or what? I am curious about what I am seeing, beside the building itself. Those tubes are for something, but I don't know what. I love the variation in size and color. It looks like there is a recent replacement. Great photo, Nikolay.

The backs of buildings are often more interesting then the fronts. All the workings are exposed, the guts of a building so to speak, the furnace chimneys, the elcectrical wirings, the air conditionin units, everything creating wonderful patterns and lines, sun and shadow, wonderful.

A real look at life and I guess the fascinating ways to keep warm and air conditioners too! Love your skills in looking at life..

Old buildings with all the new conveniences. Looks like a lot of electric cable running lengthwise. Well seen. I appreciated your comments today. Mandy says to say hello to Mona too:)

your combination of techniques, images & textures always produces an image greater than the sum of its parts. This is just fascinating. In one way, it can be seen as a pure 'abstract', with different shades of bleached & soiled yellow, all those windows & the variety of dark-to-silvery 'stuff' inside them (shades, blinds, etc), and with those tubes sticking out almost like visitors who stopped by and decided to take a rest on the side of a building! Like big metal insects...Some of the lines seem photographic, some seem wholly of imagination; and the center shadow line is so cleanly delineated, it knocks me out. And of course you know when to saturate the sky to pure white, which lets the fascinating 'painting' below stand out in all its fussy & rich detail. Really, this is painting as much as photography, and it shows why you cross media with such ease. Reveals more, the longer you look at it. Always penetrating & creating, no matter what the subject material. That's what motivated the great abstract painters in the 20th c, that very zeal for what's inside the shapes & forms around them...another inner journey from you.

Striking twist on the commonplace. The surreality of living with eyes open. Super.

WOW! This is stunning. I've been away for far too long, but it's good to see this image. The sense of color is superb; I love the ocher and the red-tiled rooftops in contrast to the washed-out white of the sky and the sharp reflectivity of the silver pipes (chimneys for small heaters?). What appeals to me the most, however, is the gritty sense of unapologetic Human life. I've made a return to Chicago and there is a sterility in this city that makes the movie THX 1138 look messy and organic in comparison, so seeing THIS image is quite refreshing.
