Description

We went to Mammoth Cave in Kentucky. At something over 375 miles it's the longest cave known. This is a staircase deep underground. Some may think of caves as dirty holes but I find them fascinating. When the lights are turned off it's Absolutely black and silent - very eerie and, in my opinion, very cool. Thanks for Looking, Ken

Great shot! I love the light, especially knowing that's all there is. I've been in a cave like that when they turn off the lights. It's really quite a remarkable experience.

Ok, you like being in deep, dark holes in the ground that are eerie. Ah huh... Ah, you haven't changed alot, have you. LOL Still the guy of drama and flair. I gotta say, I agree with this hole... I bet the entire experience was memorable. I've heard about this place, but unlike you, I have a phobea about suffication and I don't know if I could have been so far underground for a long. Outstanding capture of the stair and the mysterious lighting.

Very eerie, and yet a rather soothing shot, perhaps the amber tones to it. : )

What was really cool is when they turned the lights off, oh man was it dark then. Great catch bunny, turning back and seeing those steps aglow was so cool.

A very eerie place! I remember going down Poldark Mine in Cornwall many years ago. I didn't like it. I think that's when I found out I'm a tad claustrophobic !

This is absolutely wonderful! Was this the cave that Jesse James was in? If so, I was there. Very beautiful.

Cool shot. Kind of creepy to me though. I love the photos I see of caves, but find them too scary to go into.
