Description

Grandpa Comfort's favorite car was a black 1910--perhaps 1912--Ford Model T Touring car. He prized it so much tht he named his youngest son, Ford, after it. (Yes, Ford the Chevy man!) It was still rusting away beside the equipment garage, when our family, consisting of my Grandma Comfort, my mother, and twin brother returned to the Kansas homestead in 1947. Ford, who was a bachelor at the time, joined us. It was the same rust bucket portrayed in an earlier work, "Chariot of Dreams." http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1422558&memberf In this scene, Grandpa is probably a lot younger than as portrayed. He was likely in his early forties, but he probably wore overhauls and a plaid shirt many a time. There was usually a farm dog on the property, but what kind I have no idea. Probably a mutt with a lot of German Shepherd in it; although I remember seeing a photo of a smaller black and white terrier mix. That mutt was of a later time, when my mother, the second youngest of seven, was five or six years old. When we were living on the farm (1947-49) Uncle Ford had a wonderful Irish Setter. Many a time, we would head for town in Ford's Chevy with Rusty running after us. Sometimes, he would run well beyond a half mile, charging through the dust we kicked up, dropping to a lope, then a trot, then a slow walk until inevitably we would see him sitting, exhausted and panting, at the top of the previous rise, staring forlonely after us. Saw many another farm dog like that, too. They just hated being left behind. (So did my brother Steve and I; more often than not, Ford would head off to town on his own; and like ol' Rusty, we wanted to go too.) So, Rusty, ol' boy, although long gone, this one is for you. This is the first render in Bryce in several years that actually has turned out the way I wanted and without any crashes! YeeeHaaaawwww!!! Also some of the more realistic looking dust that I've created in a long time. Thanks for stopping by and having a look. Your visits and comments on past renders are very much appreciated. Jeremy CREDITS: Bryce 6.1, Poser 6.0, PhotoShopPro 5.0. Vehicle: Sorry, can't recall where I got it. Dog: DAZ's Mil Dog. Wonderful story. Thanks for sharing it with an equally lovely render! You've certainly got a knack for those roads and paths, and the subtle details like the clouds of dust and the spinning tires.

Love the dust and the car!!!! Wonderful story...thank you! My dog used to chase us on the snowmobiles. I'd let her catch up then drive her back to the house :)

I have to agree, that cloud of dust is fantastic. The entire scene is extremely good, nice light (feels like a hot summer day just looking at it) and the plants are excellent.
