Description
After searching for a very long time for any sort of picture of Koji Kondo worthy of a desktop wallpaper, I finally just decided to make my own. I found a picture I like, which wasn't easy to do, because pictures of Koji Kondo are rare, and I just started fooling around in a free program I found called Paint.NET, which is just like Photoshop. Anyway, this was the result, and I'm pretty proud of it, even though it's kids stuff compared to the computer-generated art on here.
This file is 880x677 just so it will fit on here. The original is 1300x1000, because my screen resolution is 1290x960
Koji Kondo is one of my favorite composers,(along with Nobuo Uematsu, Claude Debussy, and Franz Schubert) though he gets little credit, because he is a video game composer. Every time I mention that to someone, they just laugh, and brush it aside, because he's not a "real" composer, even though he's written some of the best and most memorable themes of the past century. Yes, I am a nerd, but I am also a musician. I have studied music for a very long time, and I know what it takes to be a good musician and a good composer. Koji Kondo is one of the best melody writers I have ever heard. If you've never experienced his music, I urge you to go dig up your old Nintendo console (or your kid's) and put in any Super Mario or Zelda game, and just listen to the music. Next, I want you play the game without the sound, and see just how much Koji's music affects the mood and the quality of the game you're playing. Of course, if you still find it fun, you have a different person to thank for that. Maybe I'll make a Shigeru Miyamoto tribute sometime...
