UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

I'd never seen a tobacco barn before. This is quite interesting! I'm glad they're restoring it as a part of our history. I like both images very much, and your presentation is great!

It's really good to see that they are preserving these old barns for the future but I have to wonder, when doing so, why not put the concrete under the ground as far as you can and 'age down' the wood? Its done here. Love your 'Barn Pictures' though. There are so many different kinds! Bring 'em on, my friend. Rob.

Interesting commentary and wonderful shots!!!

Excellent images. Glad to see its preservation. I looked in one filled up with tobacco, and to me it seemed very dark in there. This really shows the air circulation.

Over here in the UK with so many people converting barns into houses it's great to see some of these true pieces of history still standing. We can only imagine the aroma when standing inside this. Fine work Bill :)
bronwyn_lea
Fantastic barn! We have tobacco farmers here and it is neat to see how they prepare it.
THROBBE
Fantastic work Bill! Lots of fine timber there!

Stellar POV, DOF, clarity, colors and textures as always, Bill! Perspective, too. Lots of nostalgia on display, but the stuff will kill you.

Now that's a BARN. No piddling little cow parlour, thats huge !. The only obvious difference is in the translation, when you say "easy for air to circulate" we would say "full of holes"...:) Very interesting subject, from the outside it looks solid, however from the inside...well...as you say, circulation. Very interesting and informative. Thanks Bill...now where did I put my pipe?.
