This is a really nice photo of a rural scene, nice composition and slow exposure usage :) However, I think you may have gone a bit overboard with the tonemapping or shadow/highlight filters... the big halo between the house and the sky doesnt lend itself to a "natural" look to the photo. Generally go for a larger radius effect and use a manual dodge and burn brush (dodge highlights/burn shadows - repeat - a bit dirty sometimes but does wonders) to get the rest of the effect and you will avoid most haloing problems. :)

I guess I don't mind the haloing so much and in most cases I find it lends to the outlining, defining and drama of the shot. I do think the powerful feel is lessened in the rushing water by the exposure but I also love the composition you have.

Love the compo but think I have to go with inshaala on the tone mapping halo..but that's just a personel point of view as I don't like what tone mapping does to sky's.Think I would have duplicated the image layer..tone mapped and then erased the sky...but each to his own as they say.Thats what makes photography so interesting. Which ever way...well done

Amazing looking place. What a wonderful view and sound they get to enjoy, I've never seen a water fall built so close to a house before.. Nice work.
