Description

Hello all! Just dropping in to say hi today ! Been playing with this five stitch pano of midtown Anchorage Alaska this afternoon . Taken on my recent visit to Alaska at twilight on a record cold-sub zero Day . This was captured from my Sister husband's ( Dr. Eric Coulter )office with a pocket cam hand held (* well rested it on windowsil and tried to hold it steady ) through a thick window. Eric's brother was interested in this for his office so worked with it a little today . Blending the five pics together at full size was a little challenging ( to get the sky to match ect ). This looks much better saved as the original and is four times larger than this . Haven't been on much - trying to be a bit more active and get away from sitting on the comp so much ( just lost 36 pounds ! ) . This isn't the normal kind of thing I would have in my gallery but a few people mentioned they liked it on my face book page so thought I would share today . :O) Thanks for your time and comments always means so much ! Love to all, ((( BIG HUGS ))) ♥ Kimmers ! :O)

This is a beauty. I've only done one pano so far and was amazed just to get five pics to go together. Downtown is excellent but the mountains are gorgeous. Well done.

You lost 36 pounds? From where? You were slender to begin with! Sterling stitching and terrific lighting apparent in this great panorama of Anchorage, Kimmie! I could have sworn you used a tripod.

Just to show you that you don't need a fancy camera or a tripod to get great results. Having a great eye and a steady hand you can achieve what your mind sees. Lovely evening shot here Kimmy! Man that looks frigid, but what a lovely time of day! I've been to Anchorage and never saw it more beautiful....! Well done girl! Aloha~

Sweet panorama... especially considering it was a pocket camera and no tripod. Very good work Kim! I love how the lighting makes areas of the photo look warm... a great contrast to the otherwise chilly atmosphere.

Exceptionally beautiful shot! Congrats on your weight loss too! Soon as the snow melts, I've promised myself I'll spend less time on this thing...right!

Very nice work Kimmers. I looked hard and you have hidden the seams very well. It's also not really the kind of image I would normally favour either but it is most certainly what I would call a "seller" as i suspect many people would love a copy.

When I was much more young person, my mind was fascinated by the Big North I devoured all books of FERNIMORE COOPER, of JACK LONDON, James Oliver CURWOOD, from CAPTAIN BYRD, discovery of Canada by the French, then rivalry with English, without forgetting the explorations of audacious Norwegian captains, leading polar expeditions to the service of its majesty the Big Sultan of the gold door!!! Yes all that enraptured my childhood, when I did not roll about in short pants in the snow! But for me at that time after the war of 1939-1945, I had seen the photos of the American base of Anchorage??? and all batiments in sheeting was gathered as bears sensitive to the cold around their mother... Your splendid photo shows me what an excess of civilisation made environment of this distant land it took a sacred blow is it also the evolution of the man.. .. I will have always believed only Alaska in 14 and would be so much changed, hurt, hurt being in the Big North! Your photo is SPLENDID, but I will expect what it is more that of the suburbs of Dallas, that that of ancient Paradise named Alaska... It is not you personally who are at issue but this human madness to want tou to prevail without excessive precautions!!! That unexpected boulversements for me I am still proud to have this child's soul!!! My salutations to your children and your animals I love you Kimarie, friend Artiste, your splendid photos especially!!! CLAUDE

WOW! An exquisite panorama - you did a lovely job on this and I really like the contrast of the warthm of the lights against the cold snow and trees. Should make a spectacular photo to frame. And I'm so proud of you for losing weight. Good idea to be more active. CC
