the water texture is beautiful, and the detailing of the grass on the boat, but above all, the expressions and natural-ness of the children is quite beautiful. A fine B&W capture, and very thoughtfully done.

Une image à la fois très intéressante sur le plan documentaire (le bateau, son style et son fonctionnement technique, les détails ethnographiques que révèlent les deux jeunes garçons qui s'y trouvent) et sur le plan esthétique par la qualité du modelé et des réflexions dans l'image. Venant de la version couleur que tu as chargée plus tard, celle-ci nous concentre sur l'essentiel comme savaient le faire les ouvrages d'ethnologie des 19ème et début 20ème siècle en faisant l'économie de la couleur, mais malgré tout je préfère la version couleur, sans doute parce que je préfère aussi les films ou la TV en couleur ou le chocolat au lait plutôt que le chocolat noir…
