Description
The Little Match Girl by Hans Christian Anderson was the first really sad story I remember hearing. It's about an orphan girl selling matches on New Year's Eve. She starts lighting matches to keep warm. In the flames she starts seeing visions of wonderful things. The last thing she sees in the flames is her grandmother's spirit who carries her to heaven.

Yes, almost all Hans Christian Anderson's stories were like that, because he had a sad childhood, he is the author of the Ugly Ducking. Nice render, This story makes me cry every time a read it or watch it in TV.
