And it came to pass that the world of Serenity was coveted by Balberith, the Savage Duke, Hell's Master Of Ceremonies and ruler of the dark world, Sheol. A "gate" that took black priests a century to conjure allowed Duke Balberith, his Zagant knights, and a vast army to invade Serenity. Thus a world of light and peace was conquered. Within twenty years the good people of Serenity were wiped out, and the world turned into a pit of blood and darkness. News of this atrocity reached Raytheon, once a mortal king, now a powerful Eternal with mastery over both spheres of energy and matter. Upon his arrival he throughly assensed (scanned) Dark Serenity and sadly found nothing to save.
