The Old Waterwheel This waterwheel served Black Rock Mill engaged in calico printing cotton spinning bleaching and dying from the 1830s to around 1900.Black Rock mill originally called Turton Mill stood in the valley of Bradshaw brook just north of Turton Bottoms bridge.Lancashire.The waterwheel was excavated and restored in 1978 but sadly seems to have been neglected for some years now.
