Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Cool shot of the boss and his lighthouse. This is my old stomping grounds and I've been out on the catwalk of this lighthouse. Needless to say...a great view of the ocean.

Beautiful! I love lighthouses. Of course, the cat owns the place! "In a cat's eyes, everything belongs to cats." I have that saying hanging in my kitchen to keep me reminded of that. ;o)

Wow, bright and lively capture, and of COURSE the cat owns the place. It's their own sense of eminent domain...

Needless to say, sharp clarity and bright vivid colors displayed in this remarkable capture of the lighthouse and environs, Marilyn! And the kitty below, steadfastly patrolling the premises for any errant photographers.

Born on an island with 3 lighthouses. Been to Savannah and missed this one. Nice touch with the cat. Great capture and love the sky. Dana P

you've got some vivid shots from this trip, and I'll check out the others in this series soon. Nice strong browns, whites & reds; the land is nicely captured in bands; and the fence & cat give very nice counterpoint. This is a sensitive shot, Marilyn, and the detail is delicate, small-view. I didn't read the whole wiki article, so didn't find out what patrol meant (will look later), but it's funny if you see the cat as the patrol. (Probably not what you meant, but what the heck...) Very sensitive shot, you work well with these hues, and the bands & textures make a fine shot, including the clouds in the sky.

Oh what a fabulous shot Marilyn, I can always rely on you to bring some cheerful colour and sunshine into my dreary day. As for the cat well but of course he owns that land, he wouldn't be feline otherwise LOL :o) hugs Jane xx
