Of course it's art! I can tell, because I have an opinion about it. :) I think I might like it better turned 90 degrees CCW, because I see flames. Composition, color, movement, all wonderful! If there are people who don't like it, that doesn't make it "not art."

oh it's definitely art! (I like Tara's response!) And I think it would be nice turned 90 degrees CCW too, because it does look like flames. But anyway you show it, you have expressive detail in the brushwork, you have nice detail in the reds around the greens; in fact your red section is very expressive and has fine variation in tone, shadow, darks, etc. It's bold and the color combinations stand out well against each other. I always like it when you show your paintings & drawings...hope you're having a fine weekend!
