Description

Made with 100% UltraFractal. I never know what a fractal image is going to turn into until I see what direction it’s headed. Then I start helping it along. Most of them have a mind of their own. This time it turned into a landscape. While I made this image, I was listening to fractal music, which put me in the mood to turn this landscape into a moment at sunrise when the moon is setting. I'm sure that many of you have heard fractal music before, but for those of you who are unfamiliar with it, it is most commonly created on a free software program called Musinum. If you've ever wondered what a fractal might sound like, you can find some fractal music on the Internet. I found a Web site with a great deal of MIDI files to listen to. The address is http://www.musinumworld.com/Sounds.html This same gentleman also has a long page of MP3's on another site, which are much better sounding versions of his MIDI's. Since they are remixed using a synthesizer, the instruments sound more real, and sound much richer than a MIDI file. The address to that Web page is http://www.last.fm/user/musinum/library/playlists/mrou_tim_doyle%2527s_tracks While I was making this fractal image, I was listening to the MP3’s called “Time Was”, “Retooling the Blues”, “Fontina”, "Fey", and "Ennead". Fractal music can be quite hypnotic, and I think it’s perfect while I’m making a fractal. Thanks for all your comments and favorites. Full view is better for texture and detail. Dave

This is a lovely fractal place, probably just to the West of bpclarke's Canyonlands. Love the little 'cactus' up front. I'd never heard of fractal music. Thanks for the heads-up...I'll go listen.

Fractals tend to live a life of their own, but I didn't know they made music too! I will check out that music, for sure!

A striking lanscape with the "flowering cacti" in the foreground. Thanks for the info on the factal music in really is hypnotic in a subliminal way. I had a listen and found the flow and instrument realism quite relaxing.
