Description

I have lived in Wiltshire now for the best part of 37 years, and despite having lived in quite a few places both in the UK and abroad, and travelled a lot, it has been rare to find such golden sunsets, and with Stonehenge just down the road in half an hours drive. It occurs to me that it was not by accident early Stone age man built it to enjoy these sights. Stonehenge was probably a sophisticated megalithic calculator dedicated to the paramount importance of heavenly events in the lives of these ancient Neolithic, stone age people. Above all to honour and worship the Sun. The place this image was taken I have to be honest to describe as fairly mundane, and is at the back of the Butterfly house. The trees in the background have proven to be better hunting grounds, and were where I captured my image Painting with light. Thanks for taking time to look and for any comments you care to make

I recently heard a theory that it was for audio quality being a stage but hard to imagine how a few stones turned on end could be of use.your sky is outstanding. last year we had so many wonderful sun events interacting with clouds but this year not very many so far.
