Description

Now, I know the sun always sets in the west; I really and truly KNOW that. But when I looked back at this spot on Tybee Island,Georgia and saw the sun going down over the LAND, well, I gotta tell ya, it really boggled my mind. I live on the WEST coast and the shadows here were just all wrong!! Still gorgeous, however!!

The shadows were fine...the ocean was just on the wrong side:) Tybee is a neat place...wouldn't mind having a beach house there.

Fabulous warm glow! I had a similar disorienting experience when I went to France, and found that the sun is BEHIND you on the beach instead of in front!

Oh how golden and vibrant, a beautiful scene. I live on the East Coast of England, and yes if ever I visit the West Coast it does all seem strange to me too. Great shot Marilyn, hugs Jane xx

Yes, I know what you mean; when I lived on the east coast it just didn't seem right that the sun sets behind the dunes at the beach! I never could get used to it. This is a golden beauty!

You may have been facing north when this occurred. But you never know in this upside down world. Stellar textures and orangey effect permeates this wonderful composition, Marilyn!

agree about the orangey effects & textures, I really like them. And you know what's amazing? This could be small tufts, like grasses, but it could also be large bushes too. There's a little "trail" midway in the picture, and this truly could be either scale, it's really uncanny. in any case, the shadows & golden ambers are sumptuous. Very warm & colorful shot. (I live right off Lake Michigan: When the sun rises over it, it's breathtaking. If you pay me enough money, I'll post some of my shots. I'm NOT a good photographer: Trust me, you'll have to pay me huge sums of money, and sign a few affadavits while you're at it...)
