Description

Hi, I'm after help with a name again. This tree is in the Botanic gardens in Glasgow. Its 4 to 5 meters high. The flower you see is spherical about the size of a grapefruit. Someone suggested a "Bottle brush" tree, but I can't find one even similar, their flowers are all to long, so I don't think its one of them. Someone else suggested a "Fiberus Opticus Liteum" but I smell a bit of a rat with that one! Thanks for viewing and any help would be appreciated.

Yeah, I thought it was a Bottlebush plant, too, but if it's a spherical shape, then it must be the same family, just a different variety, maybe? It's an interesting one. Excellent image.

LOL at the fiberoptic name! That's what it looks like, though, a bundle of those optical fibers. They don't have a sign somewhere around with the name? Seems odd for a botanical garden, I'd find a gardener there and ask them! Or if they have a gift shop there might be some kind of plant guide with it listed... Beautiful capture, whatever it's called, though!

Nice capture, Anthony. I must go and have a look for it. Was it in the big tropical part, or on the big long building? Warm regards, John.
