Description
This image was born out of previous images in which I experimented with Hypertxture to create 'splashes'.

Cobaltdream was experimenting with fluid simulations in Blender, and she gave me some of the objects she created. I scaled, reshaped slightly and smoothed them and used them here. (I really need to learn to use Blender...this looks like fun!)

The water ripples and all the rest of the texturing was done in Vue. The colors of the water maybe a bit too intense to be realistic, but I like it this way. The clouds are spectral-2 clouds and the lighting is GI. There are 2 light sources - the sun and a point light inside the big downwards splash.
The inspiration for the subject is taken from Genesis 1:6
וַיֹּאמֶר אֱלֹהִים, יְהִי רָקִיעַ בְּתוֹךְ הַמָּיִם, וִיהִי מַבְדִּיל, בֵּין מַיִם לָמָיִם.
And God said: 'Let there be a firmament in the midst of the waters, and let it divide the waters from the waters.'
EDIT : Sorry,the letters in the Hebrew quote didnt come out accuratly even though I used cut&paste

wow and thanks! this is such a great idea and an incredible use of really ordinary and random elements. the light is especially fitting, because it's like sunrise, and the subject is the dawn of time. it's amazing how the orange and rose mix with the blues on the surface of the water. i like the intense colors, too. it makes the water seem full of diverse energies. i'm glad you could make something so lovely out of those objects!
