I'm always moved by your work Ana, and one reason is what you put into individual lines or shapes: Even in studies or simple conceptions you have passion & life in your brush & line. This one is peaceful and engaging when one sees it as a whole. But close up, I see all those things you do with the brush that keep me coming back again & again—your way of applying the smallest color-swaths; your sense of color-areas blending & contrasting with each other; a commitment to the vitality of the simplest shapes & forms. You get wonderful textures here, you're not just 'putting down paint'. These little blocks are alive to my eye, and show your vitality even in something as 'basic' as a bunch of blocks. It's the kind of watercolor I'd do if I could...I guess you could say I'm a fan...
