Description

Working on restoring this 53 year old Polaroid of my dad standing in front of our truck. I'm not sure how far to take it. I'm worried that it will start to look too much like a drawing. As you can see the original is very faded wrinkled and scratched. Anyone out there know of any special tricks or plugins that might help? I did all of this with just the standard photoshop tools.

I like the restoration result, and it is a delicate attention for your dad.

I've done a few of these restorations. They're usually lots of hard work and consentration. I work on fixing the really serious damage after I've got the brightness and contrast sorted out. Then scratches and tears - the physical stuff. And then I take out the white spots and other anomalies. I use PSP7 and a tablet.
