Description

A four hour render using the Navajo Point DEM file. The clouds are produced using a clip file I made of FrankB's Cumulus Humilis cloud file. Several re-seeds gave me this pattern. Bushes are two populations of slightly different colors and are made using the model by 'lightning'. Additionally, I used FrankB's stones/rocks file for the surface. Because of the POV, they are difficult to see. It was rendered using cubic spline with anti aliasing bloom giving the image an overall smooth look ...maybe too smooth. Critics only please. Thanks for viewing.

Not sure how you are doing all of this in tg2 but you sure have learned how to nudge it along. This dem file looks good. No sharp edges and the ledges came out looking very realistic. That is as critical as I can get on it.

Very good artwork, dear Bob !!! I'm glad to see the render time is coming right down too. Love the pov, landscape, the strata layers you`ve chosen...... For me it looks very realistic too :):):) 5* Excellent job !!!!!

Realism is superb; I see what you mean about the softness in the rock surfaces, but the vegetation distrubution is excellent. One of your most realistic skies! Must be viewed full size.

Yes, there was the cloud lottery of 0.9; now with T2 we have the added joy of a Fake Stone lottery. A like this throw of the cloud dice (constrained with Distance Shader?) Fake Stones, as you point out, are difficult to see but they do give the topsoil more roughage/texture. You're probably aware that I am not a convert of cubic spline but do use anti aliasing bloom, the softening effect doesn't do this scene any harm at all, and maybe I shouldn't be so hesitant to employ it. I might have deployed some larger stones in that gully and hinted at a dried-up river bed, but that's just another version in my mind's eye. An excellent render in terms of realism.

critic? No, I think it looks photo realistic. Excellent surface and great pov. The only little thing is the horizon, it should be more in the first thirds from above or below not in the middle of the scene. Nevertheless it is an awesome landscape and an excellent work my friend!!!!

Critics huh, well, those clouds are absoulutely realistic and overall it has a photographic feel to it Bob. Love the 'distant' feel to it as well. YOu know I can't be critical with your works for you've done so amazing in TG 2, I will never know where to begin if i decide to take it up.

excellent and realistic render as always! but sometimes have the feeling the plants in the far are the same as in front, maybe need another color or size? and I also wonder how it would look with more contrast and darkness in color and atmo! ;o)
