Description

I picked up some flowers on my way home from work today; and decided to play with light again. This is highly addicting, by the way - Check out the Photo Challenge, and you will see. (Link Below). :-) Any advice you can give is very appreciated!! I must confess... it's Maria's images that has me SO INSPIRED! ... I hope to one day get the light just right, just like her. Hope you all have a nice weekend. Shari *********************************************** February's Photography Forum Challenge ONE DAY LEFT! Lighting
There's more fun to be had here, too! Check it out!! :-) Words In Pictures *********************************************** Thank you for your comments and Favs on my previous upload!!: "Painting With Light" thumb_1838672.jpg

I like this one very much. I can see why you would want to follow in Maria's footsteps ... hers are gorgeous ... but this has your own distinctive personality stamped upon it, and there's not a thing wrong with the way it turned out. It's beautifully done, and I believe if I saw this next to one of Maria's, I would find them equally attractive, and would be able to say, "Ah ... this one is Shari's." You've attained that soft character that I so identify with your work, even in painting with light!

A beautifully dreamy effect achieved here with your light painting. Bravo! I wish I could bring home the occasional bunch of flowers, but they would immediately become cat toys, with water, petals and stems scattered everywhere.

Maria has me worked up too. And this is very similar. It has the appearance of old world artwork. Stellar.

I used to say, I don't like still life photos/paintings/prints, etc. PWL is changing my long standing opinion or should I say prejudice. This is really very attractive and stands very nicely on its own merit. Now, I'm even dabbling with still life arrangements. LOL.

Very beautiful and impressive work, very well done. I have yet to try this but fear mine will be a total shambles especially with so many members come up with such a high standard! Bravo!

this reminds of my mother who died when i was 5, she would make fire screens like a picture frame on legs but her picture was made from colored silver paper. so i must add this as a FAV thanks for the memories:)

You probably don't remember me, but that's okay...it's happened before...but it won't prevent me from stating that this is a most stellar and elegant product of light painting. Real fine, young lady!

I really like the lighting, colors and tone on this one. If I could offer any advice it would be with the cropping. A little more room around the topmost flower would help as would having the bottom of the vase in the shot. IMHO
