Description

This was an experimental shot. The backlight was a table lamp to give a halo to the hair. I then zoomed out during a 2sec exposure to produce the steaming highlights.The subject(my daughter) has to stay very still! The result could have been more uniform but it was just a fun thing. I am sure lots more could be done with this "zooming during exposure" trick. I hope some of you PWL people could try this while you are set up on a tripod with a slow shutter speed already to go! The only post work was levels, all the effect is in camera.

Bravo Kevin, I did this back in the 80's with my 300mm tele pushpull zoom, not tried it with the digicam yet, but that said it's a rotary zoom and that could/would, give me a bit of camera shake, even on my sturdy Manfrotto, I like this effect, you now have me delving into the possibiliteis of getting into more dept with a new lens LOL!
