Continued from S3-2-4: Pieto Dotta, Nobleman of Galeazzo (portrait). “I’ve seen to that!” Blade, Rynard and Syn turned toward the study’s entrance to see a stern looking blonde man, wearing fine armor and the livery of another noble family; the gold dragon of House Kelos. “I told you I didn’t want your help, Titan!” Pieto growled as he rose to meet the intruder. “No,” he replied coldly, his voice tainted with clear bitterness. “Instead of accepting my aid, and Donblas’, you turn to these… Chaos worshiping mercenaries!” Then he faced Rynard, and replied to his earlier inquiry. “I have cleansed every inch of this House with the grace of Law, and interrogated every servant under a spell of truth. There was another demon spy here, a foul, flying snake-like thing, but it fled the city before the righteousness of the Law!” “I am Titan Kelos,” he addressed them all in an arrogant tone, “noble son of Galeazzo and servant of Donblas.” Then he focused on Pieto. “I will bring Caterina back… and once she is safe, I will have her as my wife!” “I’ve told you that my daughter will never marry you!” Pieto spat back. “Not even if you rescue her! She refused your advances… and so do I! Now get out of my house!” “I sail at dawn to take Caterina back from this Mabden fiend,” Titan announced, turning to face Blade, Rynard and Syn. “I’ll have safely in my arms, and Xorn’s head upon a pike, before you even reach the Bone Hills!” Then he turned on his heels and stormed off down the stairs. “No!” Pieto roared after him, but he was already gone. “You must rescue my daughter before that arrogant fool gets her killed… or worse, sold in Hwamgaarl!” Sinking back into his seat, he cradled his head in his hands. “Titan has pursued Caterina for years,” he explained. “But she rebuffed his every advance, and even after I rejected his request for her hand, over and over, he just will not give up… He’s obsessed with her!” To be continued on S3-2-6: Titan Kelos, Servant of Donblas (portrait). An arrogant, Ilmioran nobleman, as well as a militant priest of Donblas, the Justice Maker, Titan’s obsession with Caterina Dotta lead him to mount an expedition to rescue her when she was kidnapped by the Mabden slaver Dregolath Xorn, against her father’s will. Despite doing little more then returning her home after she was freed by Blade, Rynard Adae and Daeron Syn, the citizens of Galeazzo credited him for her rescue and, with her spirit broken by the ordeal, he claimed her as his wife. Although he played only a small role in Caterina’s rescue, Titan’s actions gained him the one thing he wanted above all else, her hand in marriage. But it also earned him Dregolath Xorn’s wraith, which lead to the ruin of his trading empire and House. The fifth installment to the second "book" of my Stormbringer characters' adventures.
